Genome Oriented Bioinformatics Group
The professorship for Genome oriented Bioinformatics is part of the Department of Bioscientific Basics in the Center for Life Sciences Weihenstephan of TUM (Technische Universitaet Muenchen). It was founded in autumn 2001 and is tightly connected with the Institute for Bioinformatics at the GSF-National Research Center for Environment and Health.
Teaching activities
The Mewes group is responsible for these lectures, seminars and practicals of the bioinformatics curriculum:
- Lectures with exercises "Introduction to bioinformatics" I and II
- Proseminar "Bioinformatics"
- Practical course "Programming in Bioinformatics"
- Main seminar "Bioinformatics"
- Practical course "Genome oriented Bioinformatics"
- Lectures with exercises "Advanced bioinformatics"
Research activities
The research activities of the Mewes group are tightly connected with the following MIPS projects:
